BE CONFIDENTLY YOU

I am always amazed at how critical and judgemental we are of ourselves. Although it is great to self assess, find our weaknesses, and straighten out the kinks there is a line to be drawn between self assessment and self criticism. Most times we are self criticizing because of something that we desperately want to change about ourselves and view it as a flaw.

Here are a few concepts that I find helpful when the tendency to criticise arise.

1. Verbally telling myself that I am enough, smart, beautiful, confident - you get the point. Self affirmation is key to arresting those thoughts and putting yourself in a more positive state of mind.

2. Never compare- there is always someone who is better than you and worse that you in various categories. Comparing yourself to either group heightens your insecurity.

3. Capitalize on your strengths because our strengths come naturally they boost our confidence but also work on the areas that are challenging. Set goals to accomplish the growth that we desire to have.

4. Keep the promises we make to ourselves. Lots of times when we feel doubt, fear and anxiety it stems from not following through with what we told ourselves that we were going to do.

5. Forgive yourself- many times our challenges are deeper rooted and cannot be simply solved. They take time, work, and most of all self compassion. (I'm not saying go break all your goals in a effort to be compassionate)

Take the time to look in the mirror and love every inch of your being.

One Love
