PERSEVERING DOWN THE WRONG PATH

A few nights ago, I got up and was in prayer and heard God say to me "blog about persevering down the wrong path".  So here I am writing a blog about persevering down the wrong path.

Lately I have been feeling unaligned and out of focus with the things that fuel and drive me. I shared with my girlfriends that I was on this career journey that leaves me unfulfilled. I am just not fueling my true passions and purpose as I believe I should. Have you ever felt that tug? If you have, you know the intensity of the feeling.

One of the stories in the bible I love is the story of Joseph. I would suggest (even if you are not a Christian) to spend some time reading it. In that story we see Joseph persevering and working hard and being successful, but it is clear that it is the wrong path.

Here are the lessons I have learned from this story:

 1. There are times when we are persevering down the wrong path, but we are not clear on our purpose and the true path that God intends for us. If that is how you feel, work hard, be intentional about your learning and mentorship and seek opportunities for growth. It will become very clear what your purpose is and what you should do.

2. There are times when we are persevering down the wrong path and we are clear about our purpose and the true path God intends for us, during those times put together a strategy and set a deadline for moving into your calling.

Don't allow fear to keep you persevering down the wrong path.

WHY I'VE BEEN MISSING

A few days ago I did a real estate video and you all were like, "Danni we want our blog back". So I’m easing back into blogging. I will say you guys have been hanging with me week after week. But its been hard lately. I have been exhausted, burned out and little energy for any creativity. I am also working on increasing my real estate business so please head over to my YouTube channel HERE and show the sister some love.

Now it would not be me if I did not share something motivational. Guys it is time to roll up those sleeves, muscle up and be on your grind. Adding income, more money, more money, more money, because even my 3 year old can spell and define inflation these days.

If you have not begun doing so, please stop relying on one income stream, go use that talent God blessed you with and bring in that extra cash.

We learned one lesson from covid, only one stream of income is so 2019.

LOVE LETTER TO MY YOUNGER SELF PART 1.

Hi Danielle,

I am now 40 years old and here are some life lessons I would love to pass on to you.

1. Invest in yourself- Outside of your academic pursuits, spend time and money into your growth. Take a class on investing and wealth building, management, learn people skills. Spend less time on the TV and more time reading books that will uplift you.

2. Spend less money, invest more- I know you are not a big spender, however dedicate a percentage of your income towards investing on the stock market. Its way easier than you think.

3. Do your best- Do not do things halfway. Put your all into what you are doing with love and passion.

4. Control yourself- Become more disciplined. Control your desires and appetites.

5. Before becoming a wife and a mom, explore the world.

NUGGETS FROM "ABUNDANCE NOW" by Lisa Nichols

Reading is an amazing thing. Leaders are readers. Encourage the young ones in your life to read.

Here are some juicy nuggets from Lisa Nichols' book "Abundance Now".

1. To experience true abundance you have to embrace your current life.

2. Pursue health and wellness with vigor so you'll be ready for life's great adventures.

3. Unclear goals make producing clear results impossible.

4. Self development is a greater commitment and a greater requirement than self sacrifice.

5. Abundant prosperous people have a tendency towards action.

6. If you never give yourself permission to fail, you've never given yourself permission to succeed.

7. Be clear about your non-negotiables

8. When you reflect on your life journey, you'll clearly see that the moments you were most alive are the moments when you loved the deepest, laughed the loudest, danced the hardest, and forgave the quickest.

TIPS FOR STAYING STRONG DURING HARD TIMES

Earlier today I had a conversation with my brother about a former classmate of his. What was interesting about his classmate was how he personally struggled with poverty. My brother recalled how as classmates they all would share their lunch with this young man because he most times did not have his own. However, he never complained, always wore a smile and excelled in school. My brother wrapped up that conversation by saying " hard times produce strong people".

Here are some tips for staying strong during hard times:

1. Hold on to your faith- pray more, trust God more.

2. Exercise gratitude- there is always something to say thank you for, make a habit to highlighting the positive.

3. Form new positive habits- like exercising.

4. Find your support system- many of us find our support system in church. It can also be a book club or a group of friends.

5. Stay away from negativity- The news is number one on my hit list for making me sad. I stay away from it as much as possible.

DETERMINED AND DEDICATED

Today as I watched my two year old ride her bike, I could not help but be impressed with her dedication and determination.

As I sit thinking of all the things I started and stopped, the many blessings that came my way and the many times I dropped the ball only to restart and stop again, I can only attribute my failures to one thing, lack of determination.

Half way through the year as we reevaluate the progress of our goals, lets push forward with renewed strength, focus and drive. If you want it badly, then its worth working hard for.

Push yourself like your child's life depended on it.

IT GETS BETTER WITH TIME-The Shelly Ann Fraser effect

Mom and dad aging like fine wine

As we get older we begin to slow down and modify our dreams and goals. Instead of desiring growth we adjust and make assumptions that this is all that life has to offer us. We become accepting of less and that drive for greatness diminishes.

This month I set a new goal. I am training myself to run track. I desperately want to compete in track competitions and push my body to the absolute limit.

My motivation: Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. I have been so inspired by Shelly's career because she has broken the stereotypes and has excelled as she gets older. For example, so many female athletes after becoming parents tend to loose their ability to perform. Shelly has not only been consistent but has been running her personal bests since becoming a mom.

The take away: It does not matter your circumstance, you can break barriers and become a better version of yourself. Set high goal, regardless of circumstance, age, credentials and the list goes on. Fight for becoming your absolute best self.
